History: N99317 was purchased last year by a retired bank President turned successful Venture Capitalist so he could learn to fly. Shortly after he bought it and early into his Sport Pilot training the engine developed a problem. Instead of changing parts or doing a top overhaul, he had the engine sent to Mena Aircraft Engines, one of the most reputable engine overhaul shops in the country (along with Mattituck and Penn Yan) and had it completely overhauled for a price of $18,079 (see invoice in the picture gallery link listed above). But he didn’t stop there. He bought the STC conversion for the 0-200 crank which makes this the best engine you can install in an Ercoupe, yet still keeping it compliant as an LSA aircraft. Instead of the C-75 (75 HP) or the ordinary C-85 (85 HP) this engine puts out approximately 100 HP! I have personally flown behind all three engines and I can tell you with the 0-200 STC, this airplane will climb like a homesick angel. My personal experience with this conversion showed an approximate 300 foot increase in rate of climb over the standard C-85. If you are flying at or near gross weight, this is the engine to have.
This is an extremely low time aircraft with less than 1400 total time and less than 60 hours on the new engine! Engine is still under warrantee. A list of some of the new or overhauled items recently installed with approximate cost for parts and labor are:

And there is more…. Wheel pants in perfect condition, landing light, nav lights, Whelen strobe on belly, Stromberg Carburetor, four fresh air vents for those hot summer days, Swiss Cheese AD complied with (no corrosion), oil door on cowling, paint is an 8, perfectly straight fuselage and firewall (no evidence or abuse or hard landings), No damage history, all logs since 1946, fuel sight gauges on header and main tanks, very clean engine compartment, polished valve covers, original glove box door on right side, fuel shut-off on panel (makes it easy to see for NO MISTAKES), PTT switches on both yokes, map pockets on sidewalls, avionics master switch, tow bar, 7-day wind-up clock, no rudder pedals, flip-up seat protectors (flip up when you step in to protect the seats), center section inspection 10/10 (clean as a whistle). Wings metalized. Master switch replaced 6/11. New Nose bowl 6/11.
This incredibly well maintained aircraft has an empty weight of only 840 lbs (see revised weight and balance in the gallery of photos listed above). With a gross weight of 1320 that leaves a useful load of 480 lbs. This is a very light, yet extremely powerful Ercoupe. Load her up and go!
Now a few negatives: (I have included pictures of all the “warts” in the picture gallery): The cowling had cracks on both doors which were professionally repaired but visually show and are unsightly. There are several small dents on the leading edge of the right wingtip, one on the left wingtip and a couple of very small dents on the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer (rocks). The sliding window has a scratch. There are a couple of small paint chips on the vertical stabilizer and a crack in the paint on the wing (about 3 inches long). It was painted all white and shines but it would look better (in my opinion) with a stripe which can be applied either with paint or vinyl.
Mechanically, this plane is a 10 and cosmetically a strong 8. Fly it like it is and enjoy the power and reliability the current owner has spent over 50K to create or do a very little cosmetic work and have a show winner! Glen Davis 917 297 1111 Broker
